My primary field of research is labor economics and most of my research (which can be classified as managerial or personnel economics) involves partnering with firms to study the way workers interact. A secondary interest is in applied econometrics and integrating frontier methods and new data. I'm passionate about ensuring that everyone gets first and second chances at a good life. I am an affiliate of Good Business Lab where I have studied ways to give everyone a chance to work a meaningful job where they are treated with respect.
